We are busy developing ranges for next year and are keen to get your feedback on this topic that has been bouncing around our design stable.
Over the years, mobile phones have grown to become such a large part of our lives. Not only do we make phone calls on them, but we interact with the whole world via various apps, social media and even watch TV and films on them.
What started out as a "brick", slowly began to get smaller and smaller, as technology developed and society pushed for smaller lighter media to make their calls and send texts on.
With the continued evolution of technology and the birth of the smartphone, we have seen a meteoric shift in the sizes of mobile phones with the latest iPhone 7 Plus nearly 6 1/2 inches in length. However as they are now no longer a luxury and a necessary addition to our lifestyle, the question we at Lansdown are asking is "Would you want a phone pocket" built in to your lifestyle garments, such as polo and rugby shirts? If so where do we build them? In the side seam or sewn inside?
We really would appreciate your feedback on this, as it is you who we make our clothing for, so we want to know what you really want from us?
All people who feedback will be put into a draw to win a goody bag of Lansdown clothing.
Corrie and the Lansdown team.
To celebrate the launch of the new Valegro clothing range by Lansdown we are running a competition to win an exclusive visit to a Carl Hester dressage demo morning at his facilities in Gloucestershire on September 27th 2016.
The lucky winner (plus their friend) will get to watch a demonstration of Carl training his horses and riders showcasing some of the top dressage horses in the world.
In addition to this fascinating insight into Carl’s dressage training, will be the opportunity to meet all the horses including Valegro.
To make sure you look the part Lansdown will also be giving the winner a goody bag of items from the range.
To be in with a chance of winning this “money can’t buy” event simply like the Lansdown page and comment on this post with the word “Valegro”.
The winner will be drawn at random and announced on Facebook.
Terms and conditions will be sent to the winner.
Good luck everyone and start sharing…
We are delighted and super excited to announce, that we have secured a 3 year supply agreement, to design and develop an exclusive Valegro clothing range.
Here is a sneak peak of the photoshoot, and more photos will become available in the near future.
Many thanks to Carl Hester and his amazing team to allow this to happen.

Many thanks for the polar neck Therma dry coat. It works just as you say. My Viszla Dotty loves the coat. She loves swimming but gets cold quite quickly. The coat warmed her up and then it was Frisbee time on the beach. Pic attached.
The cut of the coat is really stylish but more importantly functional.
Thank you for the prompt service and helpful sales staff when I rang.

We are so pleased to announce that we are working with the exceptional show producer and rider Katie Jerram and her amazing team.
We recently joined Katie at a training day she held at Moor Farm Stables in Haverfordwest. The day was enjoyed by all, with a range of show horses from cobs to side saddle riders forward to learn from Katie's vast knowledge and experience.
I know we are biased, but we think Katie looks fabulous in her Chilli Red Hedley Blouson and we look forward to seeing her and the team out and about at the shows flying the flag for Lansdown.

We have had some more coverage in the press this month in the "Tried and Tested" section of Feb/March Horse and Countryside Magazine.
Testing our Heavyweight Zip-Neck jumper, tester Laurence Murphy writes: "I really like the appearance - it is very "country" and wouldn't look out of place on a shoot, but is equally at home when I get dragged to the shops or I'm walking the dogs. What really strikes me is how warm it is and it's now my "go to" jumper on colder evenings."
Describing his initial reservations about the jumper's wool content and concerns about caring for it, he continues: "Everything here goes in the washing machine, so having a wool product that's been created to be easy to look after is certainly appealing."
Meanwhile, tester Lauren Nightingale was putting our Lansdown Thermelite rug through its paces and discovering why we pride ourselves on our perfect fit: "Well made and a great fit, this rug looks smart and has a padded finish around the neck that provides a comfortable fit across the withers. I have never used a rug with a cam buckle before but I'm pleased to say it is very secure and stays fastened all night so it doesn't slip back or move."
She goes on to test how truly multi-purpose a rug it is: "I used it after exercise when my horse was damp from being washed off and overnight while he is stabled because it is breathable and keeps him nice and warm".
"I will also use the rug for travelling to shows and under an outdoor rug once he is clipped if the weather turns very cold. With so many uses, this is a very handy rug for any horse owner and the excellent quality means it will last for years".
Lansdown was lucky enough to appear in the "Tried and tested" section of November's farm' n' Equine Magazine for not just one but two of our products. Our Heavyweight Shooting Jumper was "Very Highly Commended" and our ladies Hedley Gilet was "Highly Commended". To read the articles in full, follow this link and check out page 23. But, to read the testers' comments, read our precis below!
Rob Williams, testing our heavyweight shooting jumper, said: "I knew this jumper would be good quality, but have to say, was more than impressed when it arrived. Lansdown, based in Wales, knit their own products and this heavyweight has three layers of high performance fabric and is tightly knitted with double ply yarn making it extremely hardwearing. The lining is 100% acrylic, very comfortable next to the skin. As soon as you pick the jumper up it just feels quality and is certainly as warm as toast to wear - no need to wear lots of layers. The bonus is it's machine washable at 40 degrees C, so go on, treat yourself and you wont be disappointed."
Testing our Hedley Gilet in red chilli, Anne Chappelhow said: "Worn outside on cooler days as an extra layer and also in the house when I was feeling a little cool sitting around doing office work. A practical, padded warmer, with front zip/press-stud fastening and two useful outer zip pockets. Machine washable. The shape was more flattering than the standard straight up and down designs. Not overly padded so easy to wear and on especially cold mornings, worn underneath a lightweight jacket for that extra toasty feeling. It is still looking new and the chilli red is jolly splash of colour on the dull days. A useful addition to anyone's wardrobe, especially when working around horses and dogs! Particularly fond of the zip pockets - very handy for keeping my keys and phone secure , as I have a tendency to misplace these!"
Thank you very much to both testers for your kind comments, we are glad you like our products!
We are really excited to have opened our first store to showcase our ladies equestrian clothing range and our shooting ranges side by side. The store is on home territory in Wales, in the prestigious St. David's Centre in Cardiff.
Ever since we trialled our first, tentative range of ladies clothing at Badminton Horse Trials in 2011, our clothing brand, Lansdown Country has grown from strength to strength. We were recently the official merchandise partner for Blenheim International Horse Trials and have now also introduced a capsule sailing collection into our range.
This season’s collection is our biggest and best yet and we are keen to bring it to a whole new audience who we hope will appreciate our stylish designs, premium fabrics and affordable prices.
For details of opening times, and how to get to the Centre, click here for their Visitor Information pages.
If you are visiting Blenheim Horse Trials on 12-15th September, make sure you drop by the Lansdown stand (number 151) to enter our Free Prize Draw.
Fresh from the photo shoot to launch our new Blenheim Horse Trials Clothing Range two superb Lansdown Thermelite Multi-Purpose horse rugs are up for grabs... In the event colours of navy, royal blue and red with the official event logo embroidered on, one rug is 6'3" and the other, 6'6".
We look forward to seeing you there!
Lansdown is extremely proud to have been chosen as the retail merchandise partner and provider of all event officials’ clothing for the Fidelity Blenheim Palace International Horse Trials 2013.
As longstanding exhibitors at the event, we are thrilled that the event organisers have recognised our dedication to providing high quality clothing at affordable prices and are really looking forward to sharing the range with members of the public.
The range has been inspired not only by the event (using the event colours and official event logo) but also by a number of eye-catching features from this world famous stately home – such as a heraldic lion from the palace gates, and a fleur de lys from the palace fireplace. There is even an embroidery of the palace itself on most garments.
The range has been assembled using only the most luxurious, high quality fabrics, but with an eye to practicality – it is all fully machine washable. The range includes a polo shirt, hoodie, rugby shirt, gilet, blouson and baseball cap. Prices start at just £10 for the cap, £35 for the polo and £60 for the blouson jacket.
We have an exciting start to the show season this year with three "firsts" in the next two months.
We are lucky enough to have been given the opportunity of an outside stand at Badminton Horse Trials (2-6th May) so we will be relocating to stand 222 (near Dubarry and Thermatex). We will miss the Rural Crafts Pavillion who have been amazing over the last few years but we can't wait to meet even more of you outside!
Next up, we are visiting the Royal Windsor Horse Show (8-12th May). After having heard a lot about this show from other exhibitors and customers we are really pleased to be experiencing it ourselves for the first time. Come and say hello to us on stand A48.
Finally, we are also exhibiting at the 150th Royal Bath and West Show (29th May - 1st June). This is one of the oldest surviving agricultural shows in England and is a fantastic day out. We will be located near the Horse areas, Stand 61, Avenue A
Fingers crossed for some sunshine!
We are hoping to put last year's appalling show season firmly behind us as we set up our stand at the first major Game Fair of the year, the West Country Game Fair at the Bath and West Showground this weekend.
For those of you who regularly visit our stand outside, this year we have taken the precaution of booking a warmer (drier!) stand in the Showering Pavillion, stand numbers 311 and 312. We look forward to meeting you there.
I am particularly looking forward to slipping away to hear the Equine and Canine Touch Therapy lecture in the Smallholders Arena at 12.30 on Saturday and to munching on some of the freebies in the Taste of Game Cookery Theatre. How about you?

Ever since we launched our new collection of funky coloured super socks at Burghley we have been bombarded with emails asking when we would be putting them on our website. Well, they are finally here, with many apologies for the delay...
Anyone who has ever bought these knows exactly why we call them "Super Socks" but to the uninitiated, I will do my best to explain! The socks have a padded toe and heel which makes them extremely comfortable to wear - your feet feel cushioned and cosy all day long. They actually stay up, which is always a bonus, they wash easily and they last for ages. In fact, it is not uncommon for people to come onto our trade stand at shows and tell us that the socks they bought two years ago are still going strong before lifting their trouser leg and showing us they are wearing them!!
We always wear them when we are working at shows because they are just so comfortable - a whole extra layer of protection on your feet. They are also a brilliant walking sock, and are perfect for anyone who suffers from cold feet in the winter. Some people love to ride in them, and they are regularly bought as golfing socks for men!
We were so impressed by the popularity and performance of our original socks that we have now launched them in a wider range of colours. If you like stripey, spotty or even socks with hearts on, then we now have a pair for you - all carefully coordinating with our Hedley and County clothing collections. Or, if you prefer an argyle pattern or just plain and simple, then we have that covered too.
We will be taking them to the Shooting Show and West Country Game Fair in the next few months, so keep a look out and come and try a pair!
The first Welsh Concours d'Elegance competition for horse drawn carriages is to take place this weekend 18-19th August in the grounds of Picton Castle near Haverfordwest in Pembrokeshire.
This is a premier carriage driving event combining all the style, finesse and heritage of traditional carriage driving with the thrill of cross country sport driving. Often described as a "living museum" competitors will be dressed in their best finery alongside their traditional coach built carriages to undertake the two days of competition.
What makes this so special is that whilst this sport is fast becoming one of Northern Europe's most popular outdoor events, it is the first of its kind ever to be held in the UK.
The first day, Saturday 18th August will see entrants showcase their various carriage turnouts - and be scrutinised for their elegance, finesse and quality. On Sunday 19th August, competitors will then take part in a seven mile drive around the Picton Castle estate experiencing a series of "difficulties" or "hazards" along the way. They will be judged on their ability to negotiate these obstacles without deviation. The final test will be to compete in the grand central arena negotiating a series of cones really testing the drivers' skills. A calvacade of all the entrants will be the grand finale complete with prize giving ceremony.
If you are in Wales for the weekend, do take the opportunity to see an amazing array of carriage turnouts - from four in hand coaches, Welsh Mountain Ponies and Cobs, to small Shetlands. Tickets are available on the day and are £6.50 for adults and £4 for children. For further information and the full schedule, see Dyfed Carriage Club's website.
